Armed Forces announce the downing of a strategic drone in West Kordofan

El Khuwi: October 5, 2026: Radio Dabanga - The General Command of the Armed Forces announced on Monday morning that air defenses succeeded in downing a hostile CH-95 drone northwest of the El Khuwi area in West Kordofan State. This is the seventh drone of this type to be downed since September 20 in the states of North Kordofan, North Darfur, and West Kordofan. The Armed Forces have recently managed to take control of a large number of cities and localities in North Kordofan, with the exception of Um Badr, Abu Za'imah, and Hamrat al-Sheikh. Drone Features and Price: The FH-95 drones are manufactured by the Chinese company Aerospace Times Feihong Technology. They were first purchased by undisclosed clients in 2019, with a large order placed in 2021. The price of a single aircraft ranges between one and two million dollars. It is a medium-altitude, long-endurance (MALE UAV) designed for military and strategic purposes. The drone conducts electronic reconnaissance, prolonged surveillance, and intelligence gathering, in addition to its ability to carry out precision strikes using guided munitions. The aircraft also features advanced electronic warfare and jamming capabilities, and escorts other loitering munitions to facilitate their penetration of airspace and destruction of air defenses. Furthermore, it is capable of continuous flight for long hours at high altitudes, allowing it to survey vast areas within its operational range.
