Policies
Content, moderation, and community policies governing what can be published, how disputes are handled, and how safety is maintained.
Content Policy
All published content must be accurate, sourced where possible, and free of hate speech, incitement, or disinformation. Opinion pieces must be clearly labelled as such. The editorial board reserves the right to decline, edit, or remove content that violates these standards.
Moderation Policy
Every member submission enters the moderation workflow: Pending → Review → Fact-Check → Published. Moderators assess accuracy, tone, and community fit. Submissions may be returned to authors for revision. The timeline for each piece is visible in the member's submission history.
Community & Forum Policy
The Majlis is a space for respectful, structured dialogue. Personal attacks, harassment, spam, and off-topic disruption are not permitted. Replies that violate these standards may be removed, and repeat offenders may lose forum privileges. Disagreement is welcome; disrespect is not.
Safety Policy
We prioritise the safety of our members and sources. Content that doxxes, threatens, or endangers individuals will be removed immediately. Members can report content through the platform; reports are reviewed by the moderation team.
Dispute Resolution
Authors whose content is declined may request a review by the editorial board. Forum members affected by moderation decisions may appeal to the Lead Moderator. Decisions are communicated with reasoning wherever possible.
Data & Privacy
We collect only the information necessary to operate the platform. Member submissions and account data are stored securely. We do not sell member data. See the Terms & Conditions for full details on data handling.
