Al-Burhan sticks to the military option.. What are the reasons?

Khartoum: Radio Dabanga - The President of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, confirmed during a public rally in Amri, Northern State, that the armed forces will continue the war until all Sudanese territories are liberated, declaring his categorical rejection of any truce or negotiation. Commenting on these statements, political analyst and journalist Qurashi Awad explained in an interview with Radio Dabanga that Al-Burhan's insistence on continuing the war stems from the absence of clear guarantees regarding his future and the position of the military in power after the war, which drives him to align with the faction calling for continued fighting. Awad pointed out that the field movements and support directed to the Northern State come within the framework of general mobilization, addressing security lapses, and the presence of armed movements, while suggesting that the rhetoric might change if a peace opportunity emerges that aligns with his aspirations. At the same time, he expects that the U.S. administration will re-evaluate its discourse toward Al-Burhan based on the army's recent victories in Kordofan.
