Amsterdam- October 8, 2026- Radio Dabanga. The Feminist Justice campaign concluded its first edition after six months of continuous work to mobilize feminist voices and enhance the participation of Sudanese women in peacebuilding and change. Engineer Amira Osman, head of the 'No to Women’s Oppression' initiative, stated to Radio Dabanga that the initiative succeeded in achieving about half of its aspirations and desired goals, considering this result an important first step toward establishing the foundations of feminist justice across Sudan. Osman explained that the work was carried out on multiple fronts, including legal, media, coordination, and field committees, despite the complexities and difficult circumstances, noting that the final evaluation will address shortcomings to prepare for more impactful stages. She also expressed her regret that comprehensive peace was not achieved before the end of this edition, renewing the demand for the release of women detained on charges of collaboration and ending the suffering of displacement and violence directed against girls and women. The final statement of the campaign emphasized that women's rights are an essential part of any political or negotiation path, stressing the rejection of the use of women's bodies as a tool of war or an arena for conflict.
