The Sovereignty Council mourns the victims of the Sudanese miners incident and directs the formation of a committee to investigate its circumstances

(SUNA) - The Transitional Sovereignty Council mourned the souls of the Sudanese citizens who perished in the tragic incident involving a number of Sudanese miners in the border region between Sudan and the Arab Republic of Egypt. The Sovereignty Council expressed its sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the victims' families and relatives, praying to God Almighty to grant them His mercy and forgiveness, and to inspire their families with patience and solace. The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council issued a decision to form a fact-finding committee including representatives from the Public Prosecution and relevant judicial and security authorities to investigate the circumstances of the incident, ascertain all facts and conditions associated with it, and submit a report on the investigation's findings. The Transitional Sovereignty Council affirmed that protecting the lives of Sudanese citizens and safeguarding their safety and dignity is an inherent responsibility of the state, stressing the necessity of dealing with the incident with seriousness to ensure the revelation of the truth and the protection and respect of the borders. The leadership in both brotherly countries has remained in contact since the incident occurred to ensure the protection of lives, maintain the relationship between the two brotherly peoples, determine the circumstances of the incident, and share the facts with the public.
