Armed Forces announce downing of sixth Chinese drone in one week

Amsterdam: September 27, 2026 – Radio Dabanga The Armed Forces announced that they successfully shot down two FH-95 drones in North Kordofan and North Darfur on Saturday and Sunday. The Armed Forces stated that air defenses managed to shoot down a drone today west of the 'Tunnah' area in North Kordofan State. They also indicated that they managed to shoot down a drone of the same model east of the 'Keleimando' area in North Darfur State. Previously, the Armed Forces had announced the downing of three drones of the same model in the Al-Jamama and Al-Kawkakiti areas in North Kordofan. North Kordofan State continues to witness ongoing military operations; the Armed Forces took control of the Sodiri area on Friday. Drone features and price: The FH-95 drones are manufactured by the Chinese company Aerospace Times Feihong Technology. They were first purchased by undisclosed clients in 2019, with a large purchase order placed in 2021. The price of a single aircraft ranges between one and two million dollars. It is a medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial vehicle intended for military and strategic purposes. The drone conducts electronic reconnaissance, prolonged surveillance, and intelligence gathering, in addition to its capability to execute precision strikes using guided munitions. The aircraft also features advanced jamming and electronic warfare capabilities, and can escort other loitering munitions to facilitate their penetration of airspace and destruction of air defenses, in addition to its ability to fly continuously for long hours at high altitudes, allowing it to scan vast areas within its operational range.
