Amsterdam - September 27, 2026 - Dabanga Radio. The US administration has renewed its push for its proposal to the Sudanese government to restore peace, end the war, and sign the agreement. The proposal stipulates the establishment of an immediate 90-day nationwide humanitarian truce, with the creation of a UN mechanism involving the African Union and the League of Arab States to monitor the truce. The proposal also calls for the start of negotiations on a permanent ceasefire and security arrangements, with priority in the first phase given to limited troop withdrawals from locations in North Darfur and North Kordofan. The proposal emphasizes maintaining a unified national military institution accountable to an elected civilian government, in addition to launching a comprehensive, Sudanese-led civilian national dialogue and a civilian-led transitional political process to form a transitional civilian government that oversees reforms and elections, alongside establishing plans for economic stability and creating a reconstruction fund. Boulos: Barring Al-Burhan from entering New York is a clear message to Sudan's generals. Special Advisor to the US President for Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos, confirmed that Washington's decision to deny Sovereign Council Chairman and Army Commander Abdel Fattah al-Burhan a visa to attend the UN General Assembly meetings represents a firm message to end the war in Sudan. In statements to The National newspaper, Boulos explained that this measure comes as part of a package of escalating pressures, including sanctions and the expansion of the arms embargo. He pointed out that the lack of welcome for Al-Burhan is due to his rejection of a solution and the accusations leveled against the army of involvement in war crimes and the use of chemical weapons. Boulos noted that the United States is in contact with both parties to the conflict to end the fighting, but they continue to waste time, betting wrongly on a military resolution. He stressed Washington's support for a civilian political path based on the outcomes of the Berlin conference, led by the Quintet mechanism through a comprehensive Sudanese dialogue. He also revealed US-British moves at the Security Council to pass a draft resolution expanding the arms embargo to cover the entire country to counter recent military developments and the influx of drones, in addition to preparing new international measures to target the gold trade that contributes to financing and fueling the war.
