Severe fuel and cooking gas crisis in Wad Madani

Darfur: October 1, 2026: Radio Dabanga. The city of Wad Madani in Gezira State is witnessing a severe fuel and cooking gas crisis, which has led to a complete paralysis of economic activity amidst the crowding of citizens at fuel stations, resulting in a crazy rise in the prices of essential goods. A citizen from Madani told Radio Dabanga that the fuel crisis has worsened abnormally, with citizens crowding in long lines in front of the Al-Wajiha station near the Land Port and the Al-Mogran station near Al-Munira, which are the only ones operating to dispense fuel quotas to citizens, amidst what he described as chaos practiced by members of the regular forces in an abnormal manner. He pointed out that the city of Wad Madani is experiencing a total absence of cooking gas, noting that citizens are suffering greatly, with some carrying gas cylinders on their backs in search of shops selling gas. He said that the price of a cylinder reached 106,000 instead of 95,000 pounds, and the price of gasoline reached 40,000 instead of 37,000 pounds, and it is unavailable. He said that the prices of essential consumer goods and food supplies in the markets have risen abnormally, expressing his regret over the state of deterioration and collapse that the state is witnessing.
