Blue Nile - Um Baru: October 5, 2026 - Radio Dabanga. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) revealed that 2,800 people (560 families) were displaced from various villages in 'Wad Al-Mahi' locality in the Blue Nile region on Saturday due to deteriorating security conditions. According to reports, the affected villages include: Menza, Jebel Al-Nimr, Jebel Al-Noum, Bashakarkat, Matanqoyah, Mangalang Al-Jawani, Masanbaqa, Makala, and other villages. Reports indicated that the displaced persons headed to 'Al-Roseires' locality in the Blue Nile state. This incident follows another event recorded on September 26, 2026. These villages had witnessed battles between the Armed Forces and their allied forces on one side, and the 'Tasees' (Foundation) alliance, which includes the Rapid Support Forces and the SPLM-N led by Al-Hilu, on the other; the Tasees alliance announced its control over those villages and locations, while the Armed Forces announced they had repelled the attack. Refuge in Chad: In North Darfur, the International Organization for Migration reported the displacement of an additional 765 people from the villages of 'Wadi Arkori' and 'Um Mahareek' in the 'Um Baru' locality of North Darfur state on Friday, due to deteriorating security conditions. Reports indicated that the majority of the affected families fled across the border to Chad. This incident follows another event recorded on September 17, 2026. Um Baru locality is experiencing ongoing battles between the Joint Forces and the Rapid Support Forces.
