Ministerial Sectors Discuss Localization of Pharmaceutical Industries

The ministerial sectors of the Council of Ministers held a joint meeting today, chaired by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Gibril Ibrahim, head of the Economic Development Sector. The joint meeting approved a report on national pharmaceutical industries, noting the necessity of establishing a national strategy to advance pharmaceutical manufacturing, rely on local materials, and localize inputs to reduce dependence on foreign imports. The meeting emphasized the necessity of adopting an investment roadmap for the pharmaceutical industry by approving government policies that encourage and incentivize this sector, in addition to reconstructing the pharmaceutical industry infrastructure that was destroyed and vandalized by the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia.
