Counterfeiting Compels Central Bank of Sudan to Withdraw Old Sdg500 Bills
[Dabanga] Khartoum / Amsterdam -- Sudan's central bank is withdrawing SDG500 notes issued in 2023 or earlier, with an economist linking the move to counterfeiting and warning of its inflationary effects. The Central Bank of Sudan (CBoS) says it is withdrawing SDG500 banknotes issued in 2023 or earlier, giving holders until 31 December 2026 to exchange them before they cease to be legal tender.
