Son of Gold.. Unknown on Earth, Renowned in Heaven

Son of Gold.. Unknown on Earth, Renowned in Heaven
By: Murtada Al-Qasam Awad Al-Karim. I watched a video of a young man, mature in mind and heart, who met his end in the golden wilderness. His will to his family was: give charity from whatever gold is extracted, and pay off my debt. His entire debt... only 2 keila of sorghum! My God! 2 keila of sorghum! It is not a building or a car, not bank accounts or companies; his debt is a measure that fills a small sack! 2 keila of sorghum is worth the honor of a nation, the integrity of a homeland, and a lesson to everyone who has consumed the state's wealth and the people's money! 2 keila of sorghum exposed the greed of the greedy, stripped bare the avarice of the covetous, and showed that virtue is possible even in the heart of the desert, and that honesty remains even beneath the earth. It is a scene that makes one weep blood rather than tears, makes sorrow tear the heart asunder, and sadness split the soul. We consider him, by God, unknown on earth but renowned in heaven, and we do not purify anyone before God. Here, we ask ourselves: Why has Sudanese blood become so cheap? And why has the Sudanese person become belittled in their own homeland? This nation, grieving for its children and burdened by its wounds, deserves for us to fear God in our treatment of it, and to show mercy to one another, rather than plotting against each other. I direct bitter reproach and blunt criticism to some ministers and officials who have been distracted by the spotlight from their duties, preoccupied with appearance rather than substance, and busy with vanity rather than essence. An office is a responsibility, not a privilege; service, not mastery; humility, not arrogance. Whoever does not serve the citizen, we have no need for; and whoever does not uphold the dignity of the people has no dignity in their position. A minister who does not go to the market, does not hear the moaning of the people, and does not feel the pain of the poor is an isolated minister, even if surrounded by cameras. We want a servant-minister, not one who is served; one who is near, not arrogant; one who is merciful, not harsh. Furthermore, to a more dangerous issue: combating veiled slavery—the slavery of bowing to the foreigner while whipping the kinsman. We have seen with our own eyes those who over-flatter the foreigner and grovel before them, while being harsh and cruel to their own countrymen. These are not protocols; this is loathsome inferiority and modern slavery in a new guise, which must be fought relentlessly. It is a crisis of the psyche before it is a crisis of texts, and a crisis of ethics before it is a crisis of law; for whoever does not honor their own kin will not be honored by the stranger, and whoever finds their brother easy to degrade will be degraded by all. We have been afflicted by a moral crisis, and our condition has deteriorated; by a crisis of dignity, and our blood has become cheap. We have gone from bad to worse, and if we do not reflect, I fear that God will replace us with others. Sudanese blood is not cheap, but some misguided practices have cheapened it; the citizen is not insignificant, but some behaviors have insulted them, until the news of tragedy has become familiar and the scene of humiliation habitual. When will we respect the human within us? When will we protect the blood within us? And when will we realize that the state was created to serve the citizen, not to burden them; for their pride, not their humiliation; for their preservation, not their oppression? God is the one whose help is sought, in Him is our reliance, and there is no power and no strength except with God, the Most High, the Almighty. murtadaasgad@gmail.com The post Son of Gold..
