Amsterdam – October 13, 2026 – Dabanga Radio The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) expressed its grave concern over reports of ongoing airstrikes and drone attacks across Sudan, which are causing a large number of civilian casualties, including among families displaced by the conflict. The office noted that dozens were killed and others wounded last Saturday following airstrikes that targeted traditional gold mining sites near the Sudanese-Egyptian border. Reports also indicated that at least four civilians—a woman and three children—were killed on Saturday in airstrikes targeting the city of Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan State. In West Kordofan State last Friday, a drone attack reportedly targeted a building housing displaced families in En Nahud locality, resulting in the death of at least 12 civilians and the injury of eight others. Another attack in the town of Ghubaysh led to the death of five civilians, including three children, in a residential neighborhood sheltering displaced families. The office explained that these civilians had already fled violence, only to face threats to their lives once again in the places where they sought safety. Also on Friday, the United Nations condemned drone attacks that reportedly killed more than 30 civilians and injured others near a camp for displaced persons in Wad Al Mahi locality, Blue Nile State. The United Nations reiterated the necessity of respecting international humanitarian law, protecting civilians and civilian infrastructure, and holding those responsible for grave violations accountable.
