North Kordofan- September 23, 2026- Radio Dabanga: The International Organization for Migration (IOM) revealed that about 3,650 people have been displaced from the town of 'Um Badir' in the 'Sodari' locality, North Kordofan State, due to the deteriorating security situation between Saturday and Monday. The organization stated that the displaced individuals headed to the 'Shikan' locality in North Kordofan and the 'Omdurman' locality in Khartoum. North Kordofan State has been witnessing an escalation in military operations since last week, as the Armed Forces announced their control over areas near Sodari and Al-Mazmum. Earlier this week, the Emergency Lawyers group confirmed a wave of mass displacement of civilians from the Hamrat al-Sheikh area in North Kordofan State, amidst ongoing military operations around the region. In a statement viewed by Radio Dabanga, the group said that the area is witnessing massive military mobilizations by the Rapid Support Forces, considered the first of its kind since the beginning of the war, with troops and vehicles spreading inside residential areas and among houses, which prompted civilians to flee their homes. It explained that some were forced to remain in the open, while others headed to the Um Santa area in North Kordofan State, and to the city of Al-Debba in the Northern State.
