Against the backdrop of targeting union leaders, spreading false information, and defamation, the Sudanese Football Association (SFA) has filed a formal complaint with the Cybercrime Prosecution through authorized legal channels and in coordination with relevant authorities against several social media users and media activists residing in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt. The complaint concerns insults and accusations published by the accused that targeted the SFA and its leadership, as well as posts the SFA considered an incitement for the public to protest and gather, which could lead to chaos and a breach of public order. The SFA affirmed its commitment to taking all necessary legal measures to protect its institutions and leadership and to confront any transgressions or violations committed via electronic media and platforms, in accordance with applicable laws, including the prosecution of those targeting the SFA from outside Sudan through competent legal channels. In the same context, the President of the SFA informed the competent authorities in Egypt, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia of what he described as violations committed by several activists. He submitted a comprehensive file containing relevant information and materials, requesting legal action and the filing of charges against them in accordance with the cybercrime laws of those countries. Furthermore, the SFA President has commissioned law firms in Cairo, Doha, and Riyadh to follow up on the legal procedures and complaints, and to take the necessary steps before the competent authorities to ensure the protection of the SFA, its leadership, and its institutions from any insults or violations via electronic platforms.
