Aerial Aggression on Mining Areas: Al-Burhan’s 'Investigation' Committees Are the Same as Al-Bashir’s

The Egyptian air force launched a second raid targeting thousands of Sudanese miners, killing dozens. Regardless of the controversy over whether it occurred within Egyptian or Sudanese borders, targeting civilians with excessive military force is illegal. (Naturally, if they were inside Egypt, they would have sent a police force led by a sergeant and an informant, as no army attacks targets within its own borders using aircraft—except for the Sudanese Army, which has a long legacy of bombing its own territory and citizens, having even bombed the Republican Palace, the airport, and the vicinity of its own headquarters!) Aerial Aggression on Mining Areas: Al-Burhan’s 'Investigation' Committees Are the Same as Al-Bashir’s
The Egyptian air force launched a second raid targeting thousands of Sudanese miners, killing dozens. Regardless of the controversy over whether it occurred within Egyptian or Sudanese borders, targeting civilians with excessive military force is illegal. (Naturally, if they were inside Egypt, they would have sent a police force led by a sergeant and an informant, as no army attacks targets within its own borders—within the scope of its military jurisdiction—except for the Sudanese Army, which has a long legacy of bombing its own territory and citizens, having even bombed the Republican Palace, the airport, and the vicinity of its own headquarters!) This second shocking incident has placed the Al-Burhan authority in a position of internal embarrassment, added to the embarrassments of failing to end the 'rebellion' and failing to contain the living crises. Al-Burhan's authority is a hostage to the Egyptian regime, having inherited this dependence from the Omar al-Bashir and Salah Gosh regime. Al-Burhan's military salute to Sisi (during the sit-in at the General Command) was nothing but a confirmation of this dependence and obedience. Then came the military cooperation protocol (before the phantom Fashqa battle), a protocol that civilians (led by Hamdok and the leaders of the FFC parties) turned a blind eye to during their talk of a model partnership between them and the 'Muslim Brotherhood' military! The Egyptian authorities are the primary supporter of Al-Burhan's war, providing diplomatic cover and political weight (in the Quartet, the Security Council, the Human Rights Council, and the Arab League). There are also suspicions of military participation, whether through supplies or 'warplane raids,' not to mention that the presence of Egyptian forces in Merowe (which was the spark that ignited the war) strengthens those suspicions. What does the Al-Burhan authority do to absorb popular pressure and deflect 'blame' and embarrassment from itself, as long as it does not dare to object to the Egyptian government's actions? The solution preserved in the literature of (the Islamists/who are the core and marrow of Al-Burhan's authority) is to form a fact-finding committee! A committee similar to the Nabil Adib committee and the 'Kambo Tayba' committee!! A fact-finding committee has already been announced!!! Where and with whom will the committee investigate?? With the victims?!! Or with the (dead) miners and the wounded? They are merely simple citizens who wandered in search of an honest living in this time of famine and war that destroyed what was left, after a previous time of famine had consumed everything else. Or with the Egyptian pilots? And with the Egyptian government?!!! The names of the members of the 'concerned or unconcerned' committee have not been leaked, but I wish it included Nabil Adib so that the fools would understand the authority's intent. This reminds me of the incident of the Israeli drone attack that liquidated a Sudanese citizen in one of the streets of Port Sudan; at that time, the government of Al-Bashir and Abdelrahim 'Al-Lembi' was content with filing a criminal report at the Port Sudan Central Police Station!! Likewise, the American attack on the Al-Shifa factory in Khartoum North, where the Al-Bashir regime was content with filing a report at the Kober police station!! Whenever a disaster occurs that Al-Bashir's security and his National Congress party cannot hide, the magic solution to avoid facing it and its consequences is to (form an investigation committee). Anyone who asked what happened was silenced with the stone (the decision to form the committee) and told not to jump to conclusions, not to follow 'rumors and speculations,' and to wait for the results of the investigation (which will never be announced)!! Whenever it is struck by a matter it cannot face or an issue it cannot hide and wants to bury, it forms an investigation committee! Al-Burhan's committees are the same as Al-Bashir's committees.. the Nabil Adib committee, the Kambo Tayba committee, and the chemical weapons committee are all examples of the absurdity falsely called an investigation! If investigation committees performed real work in our homeland, which the Brotherhood turned into a 'homeland of lies and rumors,' they would have formed an investigation committee regarding the Rapid Support Forces' movement to Merowe!! And they would have formed an investigation committee regarding the 'first bullet,' and a war that spares nothing and leaves nothing would not have erupted!! But they planned the course of the event and lured everyone (political forces and public opinion) into the corner of war—'either with us or against us'—with no room for truth or investigation. That is why they reject any talk of an investigation into the events that led to the war and its violations, and they have even rejected the international fact-finding mission of the Security Council, which they have been repeating their rejection of annually since October 2023, the latest being just a week ago!! Their investigation committees are formed only for incidents like the Jabal al-Aqidat incident and the border mining areas! Abu Noura Ohaj mohmedanwar752@gmail.com
