Perspectives, Wednesday, October 14, 2026. Zuhair Al-Sarraj. We object to the blatant disparity in the coup authority's handling of the two crimes. When Egyptian brothers were killed and injured, the authorities acted with lightning speed and took all measures. Yet, when hundreds of innocent Sudanese were killed and injured within their own homeland, Al-Burhan kept his mouth shut, contenting himself with announcing a fact-finding committee, and did not even bother to offer condolences to the victims' families. Perspectives, Wednesday, October 14, 2026. Zuhair Al-Sarraj. What is known as the Sovereignty Council and its coup leader did not dare to take any action in response to the Al-Oqaydat massacre within Sudanese territory, other than announcing the formation of a 'fact-finding' committee, not even an investigation committee! Imagine... no condemnation, no protest, no condolences, and no sympathy for the victims' families, as if those who were killed and injured were merely rats, not human beings and Sudanese citizens whose protection is the responsibility of those cloaked in alleged sovereignty who fight in the name of 'dignity'! The same scenario occurred last June, when Al-Burhan announced his intention to investigate a similar bombing incident in the same area. Nothing happened, no committee was formed, its members were not named, and no investigation or fact-finding results have been announced to this day. This is the same fate awaiting the new committee (if there is one). I bet it is just lies and dust thrown in the eyes of citizens whose hearts were scorched by the heinous crime, who took to social media to vent their rage, and Al-Burhan thinks he will continue to deceive them forever! When two Egyptian citizens were killed and a third was injured by gunfire in Khartoum, Al-Burhan's authorities acted with lightning speed, announced the arrest of the perpetrator, the Egyptian ambassador followed the case, the Governor of Khartoum visited the injured and offered condolences to the victims' families. This is a duty we do not object to; rather, we encourage and praise it. We do not object to arresting the perpetrator, bringing him to justice, providing full protection to our Egyptian brothers in Sudan, and offering condolences to their families. However, we object to the blatant disparity in the coup authority's handling of the two crimes. When Egyptian brothers were killed and injured, the authorities acted with lightning speed and took all measures. When hundreds of innocent Sudanese were killed and injured within their own homeland, Al-Burhan kept his mouth shut, contenting himself with announcing a fact-finding committee, and did not even bother to offer condolences to the victims' families. Why this shameful behavior? Or is he afraid of those to whom he owes his seat of power, and is he avoiding 'upsetting' them?! Nobody is asked to declare war on Egypt, sever relations with it, or even condemn it. But we demand a clear stance regarding the bombing and killing of Sudanese people who have the right to life, to live, and to work in their country, safe and secure under the protection of the authority that should protect and defend them. We demand the announcement of the results of the previous investigation. As for the silence and the announcement of a new committee that dies before it is born, it is a disgrace that will lead to more attacks, crimes, and the killing of Sudanese like rats, while Al-Burhan watches as if he were watching a television series!
