The Intoxication Has Faded, and Reality Has Set In?!
Manazeer, Saturday, October 17, 2026. Zuhair Al-Sarraj manazzeer@yahoo.com. Following the crushing blow Burhan received from the U.S. administration by being denied a visa to attend the UN General Assembly, he announced on X that he had recently sent a letter to U.S. President Donald Trump regarding peace efforts in Sudan. While he did not disclose its contents, a journalistic source revealed that it included proposals for a truce, the withdrawal of forces from civilian areas, stopping foreign support for the Rapid Support Forces, addressing sources of weapons and funding, the presence of mercenaries, monitoring the implementation of obligations, protecting state institutions, and moving toward a democratic civilian transition decided by the Sudanese people! Burhan had previously crashed a rap concert in Khartoum on September 26, 2026, shouting to the audience that he 'does not want a visa or permission from anyone,' without daring to name America. So why is he now pleading with the American President, sending him a letter affirming his commitment to peace efforts sponsored by the U.S.? Does he think Trump will take pity on him and pull him out of the dilemma he created for himself? Or does he think he can deceive Trump as he has deceived the naive and foolish in Sudan for the past four years with lies about achieving peace and civilian rule, offering him the same old wine in a new bottle, believing it will win his favor, while ignoring its contents—especially since he doesn't drink alcohol and loves Coca-Cola?! Where is the explicit acceptance of the ninety-day humanitarian truce demanded by Washington without preconditions to open the way for aid to millions of Sudanese? Where are the negotiations between the warring parties? Where is the roadmap drawn by America to reach a civilian government, which Burhan, supported by his Egyptian and Saudi masters, has continued to evade, stall, and attempt to buy time until circumstances change and the Americans forget it, replacing it with another where Burhan finds a way to reach the seat of power and achieve his father's dream?! Does Burhan believe he can deceive Trump, play games, and push through the method that suits him, forgetting that Trump is the master of clowns, adept at maneuvering, pressuring, and deal-making, and does not hesitate to use his tools and power to achieve what he wants? Or has the little clown not heard of this and thinks that Trump and his aides will rejoice at his letter and celebrate and dance to the tunes of Sudanese rap?! It seems the intoxication has faded and reality has set in. The coup leader is now desperately trying to open the door he closed under the orders of his masters by not accepting the humanitarian truce and the American proposal, and he is trying hard to alleviate the pressure he was subjected to after being denied the visa... but he is deluded and naive. Announcing readiness for peace and repeating talk about sovereignty and the unity of the country is empty talk with no value. Burhan must announce whether he accepts the cessation of fighting according to the American proposal, or if he wants a truce on his own terms, or if he wants to continue the deception, games, and buying of time?! As of the writing of this article, no American response to the alleged letter has been issued, and we do not care what they respond with or what they say. What concerns us is stopping the war that has destroyed our lives and our country, displaced our people, insulted us, and exhausted us. We do not need new letters, new games, and new illusions as much as we need clear positions and practical steps that stop the fighting and open the way for a democratic civilian rule that restores the peace, freedom, dignity, and respect we have lost.
