Real Madrid successfully reduced the gap with Barcelona to three points in the La Liga standings after a 2-1 victory in the "El Clásico" match, which handed Barcelona its first league defeat this season. In the CAF Champions League, qualification was secured by Morocco, Tunisia, and Egypt, alongside one team each from Algeria, Sudan, and Mauritania. MC Alger managed a victory against Nigeria's Enugu Rangers.
