The Prime Minister Receives the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States

His Excellency the Prime Minister, Professor Kamil Idris, received today at his office the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ambassador Nabil Fahmy, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohieddin Salem, and the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Ali Mohammed Ali. During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the efforts of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, valuing its support for the aspirations of the Sudanese people and its solidarity with them. The Prime Minister affirmed the Sudanese government's openness to efforts aimed at achieving peace in a manner that preserves the country's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and institutions, and called on the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States to exert further efforts in the coming period within the Quintilateral Mechanism and at the bilateral level. For his part, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States explained that his visit to Sudan, just four months after assuming his post, comes within the framework of the League's interest in the Sudanese file, emphasizing the League's aspiration to enhance cooperation with the Sudanese government to achieve peace in the country, in addition to exerting more efforts with relevant regional and international parties and supporting recovery and reconstruction efforts in the country.
